DREAMLAND - dir. THORFINNUR GUDNASON / ANDRI SNAER MAGNASON

Synopsis: Dreamland is a film about a nation standing at a crossroads. Leading up to Iceland’s greatest economic crisis, its government started the largest megaproject in the country’s history: to build the biggest dam in Europe. Under the mantra of economic growth, the dam was to provide Alcoa with cheap electricity for an aluminium smelter in the rugged east fjords of Iceland. Today, Iceland is left holding a huge debt, facing an uncertain future.
