HULLABALLOO (Gauragangur)

Teenage rebellion and love in 80’s Iceland, where beer was banned, no TV on Thursdays, smoking was considered cool and rock was only played on the radio for an hour on Saturdays. The film’s script was selected for New Cinema Network at the Rome International Film Festival in 2008.

SILENCE OF THE GRAVE (Grafarthögn)

A thriller based on a novel by writer Arnaldur Indridason. Inspector Erlendur (Jar City) sets out to investigate the identity of bones that are discovered in a shallow

grave on a building site on the outskirts of Reykjavik. The search leads him back to the time of WW2, when the American Army had a base in Iceland.

THE WHISPERER

A stranger tells a troubled girl the story of his life. His mythic exploits dart from the delightful to the dark as he weaves a wonderous tale of his life as a boy born with

supersensitive hearing. Combining Dickensian-influences with modern approach to storytelling – The Whisperer – could be described as Oliver Twist with a twist.

Director: Ragnar Bragason. Award-winning director of the films Children (2006), which won the Golden Swan at the Copenhagen International Film Festival in 2007, and Parents (2007). Both films screened at a number of international festivals, including San Sebastian Film Festival, Pusan International Film Festival and Rotterdam International Film Festival.
