CUBS wins Best European Film at ÉCU – The European Independent Film Festival

CUBS, a short film by Icelandic writer/director Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir, won Best European Film at the 12th ÉCU - The European Independent Film Festival, held in Paris this past weekend.

Prior to ÉCU, CUBS won Best Icelandic Short Film at the Reykjavík International Film Festival , the Northern Wave International Film Festival in Snaefellsbaer, Iceland and EDDAN. CUBS also received two special mentions at the Internationale Kurzfilm Woche in Regenburg, Germany, from the International Jury and the Jury of the Young. CUBS also won Best International Short at Flickerfest in Sydney. The film received the Audience Award at the FEC - European SHort Film Festival in Spain. 

CUBS was written and directed by Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir. It was produced by Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir for Zik Zak Filmworks and Eva Sigurdardóttir for Askja Films. It stars Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Ragnheidur Ugla Gautsdóttir Ocares and Agla Bríet Egilsdóttir. The film was shot by Bergsteinn Björgúlfsson and edited by Eyrún Helga Gudmundsdóttir and Sigurbjörg Jónsdóttir. The score was composed by Gísli Galdur and Thórunn Antonía.
