ECHO selected for Coproduction Village at Les Arcs
Echo, writer/director Rúnar Rúnarsson‘s new film, currently in development, has been selected for Coproduction Village, Les Arcs European Film Festival‘s highly valued platform for industry professionals. The Coproduction Village will run from December 16 – 19, with the festival running from December 16 – 23.
The team behind Echo will take part in individual meetings with co-producers, distributors, sales agents and financiers.
Echo is a film where reality will be captured, initiated and staged. The timeline of the film is the advent season of December 2018 to New Year’s day 2019. An echo from postmodern society, a contemporary mirror.
The film is produced by Live Hide, Birgitte Hald, Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir and Rúnar Rúnarsson.
HOW TO BE A CLASSY TRAMP selected for Film School Village
How To Be a Classy Tramp, writer/director Ólöf Birna Torfadóttir‘s debut feature film, currently in development, has been selected for Film School Village, the festival‘s platform for recently graduated filmmakers. Film School Village will also run from December 16 – 19.
At Film School Village the recently graduated European talents will screen their graduation films, take part in workshops and discussions, review case studies, have one-on-one meetings with professionals from Coproduction Village and collaborate with young composers.
Ólöf Birna Torfadóttir graduated from the Screenwriting and Directing department of the Icelandic Film School. Accompanying Torfadóttir at the Film School Village is Bjarni Gudmundsson, the film‘s producer.
How To Be a Classy Tramp tells the story of friends Karen, a country girl, and Tanja, a city girl. One summer they decide to work together at a farm. Recently broken up with her boyfriend, Tanja soon starts to regret the stay. Arriving at the farm, Tanja quickly falls for a handsome country boy. When her attempts to charm the boy fail miserably she becomes impressed with the way Karen is able to sleep with anyone without any aftermath. Thus Tanja asks Karen to teach her how to be like Karen, a classy tramp.
