Göteborg Film Festival is now running - Icelandic presence at the festival

Göteborg Film Festival is now running until February 3. 

The County by Grímur Hákonarson is in competition for the Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film, and had its Nordic premiere last Monday, January 27. Hákonarson was at the premiere and the film was well received. The Dragon Award ceremony will take place on February 1. 

The TV series Happily Never After from director/writer Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir screens in the TV drama section of the Nordic Light program and will compete with four other Nordic TV series for the Nordic Film & TV Fund Prize for Best TV Script. Happily Never After is directed by Magnúsdóttir and Marteinn Thórsson. The award ceremony will take place tonight, January 29.

A White, White Day by Hlynur Pálmason and Agnes Joy by Silja Hauksdóttir will screen in the Nordic Light program of the festival.

Lamb, directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson, is part of the Work in Progress section of the festival where the project will be introduced to professionals. Lamb is written by Sjón and Leifsson and is produced by Hrönn Kristinsdóttir and Sara Nassim for Go to Sheep.

The Garden by Ragnar Bragason and Thirst by Gaukur Úlfarsson and Steinthór Hróar Steinthórsson are part of the Nordic Film Market.
