JAR CITY WINS TITANIC AND SIGURROS A AUDIENCE FAVORITE
Icelandic films were successful at the 15th Titanic Film Festival, held in Budapest, Hungary from the 3rd to the 13th of April.
Icelandic films were successful at the 15th Titanic Film Festival, held in Budapest, Hungary from the 3rd to the 13th of April. Over 60 films from 30 countries were shown, but eight films were selected beforehand tocompete for the Breaking the Waves award.
Jar City, directed by Baltasar Kormakur was the winner of the top prize, the Breaking the Waves award, which comes with a 10.000 euro prise. The festival´s audience also liked an Icelandic film the most, since Sigurros: Heima, Dean DeBlois music film about the cultic Icelandic post-rock band, got the most votes from the audience.
