Guests can view excerpts from films on a number of monitors throughout the exhibition, and, further, can also choose to view around 100 titles from beginning to end at four specially equipped „film islands.“ The films on offer are categorized as features, shorts, documentaries or as based on literature.
Curated by Sabine Schirdewahn and Matthias Wagner K, the exhibition offers a unique and artistic glimpse into the history of both Icelandic filmmaking and the cultural history of Iceland in the 20th century.
The exhibition is backed by The Ministry for Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture, the Icelandic embassy in Berlin, The Culture House – National Centre for Cultural Heritage, The Icelandic Film Centre, The National Film Archive, Icelandair and Nordatlantens Brygge Cultural Centre in Copenhagen.
The exhibition is open until January 10th, 2010.
