Nordisk Panorama 2009 Awards Ceremony
Best Nordic Short Film
The Award for Best Nordic Short Film went to the Icelandic director Rúnar Rúnarsson for his film Anna. Anna is Rúnarsson's graduation project from the National Film School of Denmark and was therefore in the competion on behalf of Denmark.
The Special Jury Mentions went to Sara Eliasson from Norway for her film Alle Fugler (Still Birds) and Patrik Eklund from Sweden for his film Slitage (Seeds of the Fall).
Members of the Short Film Jury were: Martin de Thurah, Danish winner of the Short Film Award at Nordisk Panorama 2008. Sharon Badal, a short-film programmer for the Tribeca Film festival and Trevor Groth, Director of Programming for the Sundance Film Festival.
The Canal+ Prize, selected by the Canal+ representatives consists of a purchase of the film for Canal+ broadcasting in France and Africa. The winner of this award is the Swedish director Åsa Johannisson for the short film Fish (Fish)
Best Nordic Documentary
The prize for best documentary film went to the film Det Röde Kapel (Red Chapel) from Denmark directed by Mads Brügger.
The Special Jury Mentions went to Christian S. Jepsen from Denmark for his film Side om Side (Side by Side) and Iris Olsson from Finland for the film Between Dreams (Between Dreams).
Members of the Documentary Jury were: Frédéric Boyer, the Artistic Director of the Director's Fortnight in Cannes. Catherine Le Clef, founder of the distribution and promotional company for documentaries, Cat&Docs. Håvard Bustnes, director/producer from Norway and the winner of this category at Nordisk Panorama 2008.
New Nordic Voices
For the third year running new promising Nordic filmmakers competed in New Nordic Voices. This years winners are William Johansson and Lars Edman from Sweden for their film Blybarnen (Toxic Playground).
The Special Jury Mention went to Krantsid/Löshunder (Strays) by Sutharsan Bala from Norway.
Members of the New Nordic Voices Jury were: Anna Laurila from the POEM Foundation, Pall Baldvin Baldvinsson, film commissioner at the Icelandic Film Centre and Kjersti Helen Rasmussen, script editor for the West Norwegian Film Centre.
Open Source
Last but not least the Nordic Film and TV Fund granted a project represented in the Open Source Cinema Clinic and the grant went to Antti Haase and Jussi Oroza from Finland for their project One Thousand Stories.
