Thirteen Icelandic films will feature in a focus on Iceland at the Plus Camerimage film festival that runs in the city of Lodz, Poland between the dates of November 28th and December 5th.

The Plus Camerimage festival focuses on the art of cinematography and so provides an alternative to most other traditional film festivals. The festival has been an annual event since 1993 and has featured many of the world‘s most important filmmakers as its guests.

The focus will feature some of the most popular Icelandic films of recent years, but will also present an in-depth look at the work of director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson. Seven of Fridrikson‘s films will be screened as part of the focus, including Children of Nature (1991), which was nominated for an Academy Award as best foreign-language film. Fridrik Thor will attend the focus along with DOP Bergsteinn Bjorgulfsson, who has worked on many of the films presented there.

Other Icelandic directors featured  in the focus are Ragnar Bragason, Baltasar Kormakur and Dagur Kari.

More information on the festival, and the Icelandic focus can be found at http://www.pluscamerimage.pl/index.php?lang=en&pg=3305
