BEST EDITED FILM OF THE NOUGHTIES
In the latest issue of Filmmaker Magazine the first decade of the 21st century is reviewed and the results of the online poll “Readers Choice: Best of the Decade” published. Icelandic director and internationally acclaimed film-editor, Valdís Óskarsdóttir, received yet another acknowledgement as her editing of the movie Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind topped the poll in the category “Best editing” of the decade.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind beat films such as Traffic, which won the Oscar in 2000 for editing, and Memento to the prize. The complete list of films nominated by the Filmmaker Magazine can be accessed here, while the result of the poll is available in the magazine or by online subscription.
Valdís Óskarsdóttir is currently placing the finishing touches upon her second directorial feature, King’s Road, which is expected to premiere in March 2010.
