An extensive focus on Icelandic cinema will be hosted by the Association of Czech Film Clubs at this year’s Summer Film School. Altogether, the line-up includes 39 Icelandic films and spans an era of 90 years, from 1919-2009. This offers festival goers a unique opportunity to experience the development and history of Icelandic cinema.

The films will be screened in several theme-based categories like Silent Films, Nordic Myths and Legends, Development of Icelandic Comedy, Icelandic Film and Music. Moreover, there will be a retrospective on Icelandic directors Fridrik Thór Fridriksson and Dagur Kári, both of whom are attending the festival.
