FRIDRIK THÓR FRIDRIKSSON WINS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD AT FEBIOFEST

Icelandic director Fridrik Thor Fridriksson was presented with the Kristian award for life achievement in cinematography at the opening ceremony of the 18th Febiofest international film festival today.

Fridrik Thór was handed the award by Mayor of Prague Bohuslav Svoboda.

Fridriksson then presented his tragicomedy Mamma Gogo that he made in coproduction with Britain, Germany, Norway and Sweden last year to express his respect for his mother.

The Kristian awards will also be received this year by Australian director Peter Weir, 66, and Austrian actor Helmut Berger, 66.

The winners of the Kristian award include Wim Wenders, Alan Parker, Carlos Saura, Claudia Cardinal, Roman Polanski and Mike Leigh.
