BIRTA by Bragi Thór Hinriksson selected for the work in progress section at Kristiansand

Bragi Thór Hinriksson's upcoming feature film Birta will be presented in the work in progress section Films on the Horizon at Kristiansand International Children's Film Festival. The festival takes place from April 27 - May 2 in a hybrid version.

Eight upcoming children and youth films from the Nordic countries will be presented in a digital format. The films are in various stages of production, from pre-production to pending cinema release.

Birta was written by Helga Arnardóttir and directed by Bragi Thór Hinriksson. The film is planned to be released in November 2021 and tells the story of the strong and responsible Birta. She seeks ways to raise money through various adventurous methods after overhearing her mother on the phone worrying about financial crisis and not affording the family Christmas. But it's not so easy when you are only eleven years old.
