Hildur Guðnadóttir Wins BAFTA Award 2020

Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir won the BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) original score last night for her score to Todd Phillips' film Joker . Guðnadóttir's score for the film was up against the nominees Thomas Newman with the score to the film 1917, Michael Giacchino scroe to Jojo Rabbit, Alexandre Desplat with the score to Little Women and John Williams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at the BAFTA's.

The past weeks and months have been filled with success for Hildur Guðnadóttir. She won a Golden Globe award for best original score for the score to Joker . She received the Hollywood Music in Media Awards and then the Critics' Choice Award for the same score.

She received a Grammy and an Emmy award in the category best score soundtrack for visual media for her score to HBO's Chernobyl series. She has also been nominated for an Oscar for her score to Joker . The Oscar ceremony is set for February 9.
