Hildur Gudnadóttir wins Grammy Award for JOKER

Icelandic composer Hildur Gudnadóttir won the Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media for her Oscar-winning score to the film Joker. Gudnadóttir also won the Grammy Award in 2020 in the same category for the critically-acclaimed drama series Chernobyl.

In 2020, Gudnadóttir won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for her score for the film Joker. In doing so, she became the first Icelander ever to win an Oscar and the first woman to win Best Original Score since the score categories were combined in the year 2000.

Gudnadóttir has previously won Film Composer of the Year at the World Soundtrack Awards, BAFTA, Golden Globe, Critics' Choice awards, and Hollywood Music in Media awards for her Joker score. She also won an Emmy and the BAFTA Television Craft Awards for Original Music for her score to Chernobyl.
