Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds nominated for an Emmy-Award
The Icelandic multi-instrumentalist Ólafur Arnalds has received an Emmy nomination for the theme song of the TV series Defending Jacob. Ólafur is one of five musicians nominated in the category Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. Defending Jacob is directed by Morten Tyldum and the music is by the Icelandic composer Atli Örvarsson.
Ólafur has been nominated for numerous awards in the past and won the British Film and Television Academy's BAFTA Award for his music in the 2014 television series Broadchurch. He is known for his minimalist piano tunes with a touch of experimental loops and beats and sounds ranging from ambient-electronic to atmospheric pop.
