RIFF is now running

The Reykjavík International Film Festival, RIFF, is now in its 14th year and is running from September 28 through October 8. A total of around 200 international films will be screened, including plenty of Icelandic films. The festival‘s guests of honor are directors Werner Herzog, Olivier Assayas and Valeska Grisebach.

Among the Icelandic films screening at the festival are the Danish/Icelandic Winter Brothers by Hlynur Pálmason. Winter Brothers is this edition‘s opening film and will screen in the New Visions section. The Spanish/Icelandic/American award-winning documentary La Chana by Lucija Stojevic will screen in the Icelandic Panorama section.

A vast number of Icelandic short films will screen in the Icelandic Shorts section, including Cut by Eva Sigurdardóttir, Salvation by Thóra Hilmarsdóttir, No Ghosts by Ragnar Snorrason, Munda by Tinna Hrafnsdóttir, American/Icelandic How Far She Went by Ugla Hauksdóttir, Habituation by Beggi Jónsson, Danish/Icelandic Atelier by Elsa María Jakobsdóttir and Footsteps by Hannes Thór Arason.
