SEALSKIN by Ugla Hauksdóttir selected for Huesca International Film Festival

Ugla Hauksdóttir's short film Sealskin has been selected to have its world premiere at the Oscar qualifying 48th International Film Festival of Huesca in Spain. The festival will take place online from June 12 - 20. Sealskin is one of 31 films selected for the international short film contest.

Sealskin tells the story of the five-year-old Sol and her father who live in an isolated house by the sea. Sol spends lonely days with her imagination while her father, a composer, struggles with his music. When Sol senses that her father is burdened by sorrow, she finds solace in an old Icelandic folk tale.

The film is written and directed by Ugla Hauksdóttir and produced by Anton Máni Svansson for Join Motion Pictures.

The Huesca International Film Festival serves as a pre-selection for the
Oscar Awards through its Danzante Awards and has the endorsement of the
Spanish Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The selected works will compete for one of the awards that distribute a total amount of over
24,000 euros.
