Sigurrós Hilmarsdóttir hired as IFC’s new head of production

Sigurrós Hilmarsdóttir has been hired as head of production at the Icelandic Film Centre, replacing Thór Tjörvi Thórsson, effective February 1, 2018.

Sigurrós, who has a BA in economics and an MSc in financial economics, is already familiar with the Icelandic Film Centre and the film community as a whole. She was previously head of finance and production at the Icelandic Film Centre, from 2007 to 2012, and prior to that was head of operations at the Icelandic ministry of industries, where she served on the committee responsible for the reimbursement of costs incurred in the production of films and television programs in Iceland.

While we are excited to welcome Sigurrós back to the Icelandic Film Centre, we would also like to thank Tjörvi for his nine years of service.
