SUMMERLIGHT, AND THEN COMES THE NIGHT selected for the Work in Progress section at Les Arcs

Summerlight, and Then Comes The Night by Elfar Adalsteins has been selected for the Work in Progress section at Les Arcs European Film Festival. The WIP session will present 17 feature film projects selected throughout Europe. The event is intended to help projects in post-production to find sales agents and distributors and is part of the Industry Village events. The Industry Village events will be held online from January 20 - 22.

Summerlight, and Then Comes The Night is written and directed by Elfar Adalsteins and is based on a novel by Jón Kalman Stefánsson.

The village is brimming with stories, stories of joy and sorrow and the wafer-thin thread between life and death. Like the one about the young businessman who dreams in Latin and leaves his promising career for astronomy and old books, or the one about the translucent boy who carves moorland birds, or the one about the open-air affair in the countryside and the big rock that is chiseled to dust. If you listen carefully we might tell you a few.

The film is an Icelandic/Belgian/Swedish coproduction and is produced by Heather Millard, Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir, Elfar Adalsteins and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson. Coproducers are by Xavier Rombaut, Elisa Heene, Fredrik Lange and Jonas Kellagher.
