THE DEPOSIT wins Best Editing Award at Indian Cine Film Festival

Andri Steinn Gudjónsson, editor of Ásthildur Kjartansdóttir's feature film The Deposit, won the Best Editing award at the 8th Indian Cine Film Festival in Mumbai. The award ceremony took place on September 6.

The film is written and directed by Ásthildur Kjartansdóttir and is based on a novel by Audur Jónsdóttir. It is produced by Eva Sigurdardóttir and Kjartansdóttir for Askja Films and Rebella Filmworks.

The Deposit follows the journalist Gisella. When Gisella becomes bankrupt, she decides to rent out her spare bedrooms to two immigrant women. The arrangement begins well for all parties but gradually her tenants begin to threaten Gisella's control of the house, her morals, and her sanity.
