THIRST won two awards at Screamfest Horror Film Festival

The Icelandic feature film Thirst  won two awards at Screamfest Horror Film Festival which took place from October 6 - 15 in Los Angeles, CA. Geir Njardarson won the Best Special Effects Makeup award and Atli Thór Einarsson won the Best Visual Effects award.

The gay splatter vampire film Thirst takes place in a small city not unlike Reykjavík, where chaos and violence reign. Hulda is suspected of having something to do with her brother's death and is being investigated by the police. After being released due to insufficient evidence, she crosses paths with Hjörtur, an old, gay, lonely vampire who helps her bring her brother back to life. This brings unforeseen consequences, in addition to their ongoing battle with a bunch of televangelists who want them dead.

International sales for Thirst are being handled by LevelK and the film is written by Björn Leo Brynjarsson and directed by Gaukur Úlfarsson and Steinthór Hróar Steinthórsson.

Screamfest Horror Film Festival is the largest and longest running horror film festival in the United States. The festival premieres and showcases new work from American and international independent horror filmmakers.
