Three Icelandic projects at Les Arcs - ECHO selected for the Official Competition

Three Icelandic film projects have been selected to participate at the Les Arcs European Film Festival in France, which takes place from December 14 - 21.

Rúnar Rúnarsson's Echo will play in the Official Competition, along with nine other features. Recently, Echo won the Interfilm Church Prize at the 61st Nordische Filmtage Lübeck and Rúnarsson was awarded the del Duero award for best director at the Seminci Valladolid International Film Festival. Echo had its premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in August.

Lamb by Valdimar Jóhannsson was selected for the Work in Progress section at the festival, where excerpts from 18 films in postproduction will be screened and presented in front of industry professionals.

The Icelandic director Erlendur Sveinsson has been selected for the Talent Village section of the festival with his project Seven Balconies. The Talent Village was created last year and aims at encouraging the rise of a new generation of daring and ambitious directors, as well as accompanying them in the journey of their first feature film.
