UNDER THE TREE and WOMAN AT WAR make selection list for European Film Awards

Under the Tree by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson and Woman at War by Benedikt Erlingsson are among the 49 feature films recommended for nominations for the European Film Awards. All nominations will be announced at the Sevilla European Film Festival in Spain on November 10, with the 31st European Film Awards also taking place in Sevilla on December 15.

Under the Tree had its world premiere in the Orrizonti section of the Venice Film Festival in August 2017. It has since screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, the Zurich Film Festival, the Chicago International Film Festival and Hamptons Film Festival, among many others. It has won seven international awards at festivals and was Iceland‘s entry for the 2018 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.

Woman at War had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won four awards in the Critics‘ Week section, including the SACD Award for Best Screenplay. It has since screened at the Sydney Film Festival, the Festival International du Film de la Rochelle in France and the Melbourne International Film Festival.
