Winter Brothers wins Best Film at the Bodil Awards

Winter Brothers, writer/director Hlynur Pálmason‘s Danish/Icelandic debut feature, continues its winning streak with two awards at the Bodil Awards of the Danish Film Critics Association for Best Film and Best Cinematography, for Maria von Hausswolff. The award ceremony took place in Copenhagen on March 17. 
 
Last month the film won a total of nine awards at the Robert Awards, including for Best Picture and Pálmason for Best Director. The Robert Awards are the Danish Film Academy‘s annual award ceremony. 

The film has also won an additional 13 international awards since having its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland, where it won four awards.

Next up for Pálmason is his next feature, A White, White Day, which is scheduled to shoot in August of this year.

The project won the ARTE Award at CineMart, Rotterdam Film Festival's coproduction market and was one out of only two projects selected for the Rotterdam-Berlinale Express which took place during the coproduction market of the Berlin International Film Festival.
