A LETTER FROM HELGA and BAND at Tromsø International Film Festival
A Letter From Helga by Ása Helga Hjörleifsdóttir, and Band by Álfrún Örnólfsdóttir, are screening at the Tromsö International Film Festival, beginning today, January 16.
Both films screen in the Films from the North Features program.
A Letter From Helga takes place in a remote fjord in 1940s Iceland, where a young farmer Bjarni begins a passionate, forbidden affair with his neighbor, the aspiring poet Helga.

Band involves three bandmates, Álfrún, Saga, and Hrefna, of The Post Performance Blues Band. Tired of playing to audiences of five and getting paid in beer, they decide to give themselves one year to either become pop stars or quit the band for good.
