AS LONG AS WE LIVE nominated for the Nordic TV Drama Screenplay Award

The Icelandic TV series As Long as We Live (Svo lengi sem við lifum) is nominated for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize for outstanding writing of a Nordic Drama, presented during Göteborg Film Festival 2023.

Aníta Briem is the series nominated writer, directed by Katrín Björgvinsdóttir.

As Long as We Live tells the story of Beta (portrayed by Aníta Briem), a once promising musician, who finds herself in a marriage at a breaking point, achingly lonely and struggling to be the mother she wants to be to her toddler in the attempt to live inside the neat little box she thinks societal norms require of her. When their new au-pair, a young man, starts to propose little “flirting-assignments” for them to do, Beta is in for a roller coaster ride.

The series is produced by Arnbjörg Haflidadóttir for Glassriver. International sales and distribution are handled by Eccho Rights.

The 2022 winners of the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize were writers Gísli Örn Gardarsson, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, and Mikael Torfason for the Icelandic TV drama Blackport (Verbúðin).

TV Drama Vision runs from February 1 – 2 , 2023 in Göteborg's old opera house, Stora Teatern.

The 46th Göteborg Film Festival takes place from January 27 until February 5, 2023.
