Call for submissions for the Sólveig Anspach Short Film Competition now open

Alliance Française Reykjavík, the French Film Festival in Reykjavík, and RVK Feminist Film Festival have opened the call for submissions for the Sólveig Anspach Short Film Competition. Closing date for registration is October 30, 2021.

To be eligible for participation:

- A woman is the director of the short film and if her previous films have been produced by a production company, she must not have had more than three previous films produced by production companies.

- Nationality of director: Applicant has a nationality or residency in a French speaking country or is a native Icelander or has residency in Iceland.

- The short film has a maximum length of 20 minutes, including credits.

- The short film was completed after January 1, 2019.

- The short film is in French or Icelandic. English subtitles required.

- The short film must be on Vimeo.

- The short film must be submitted before 23:00 UTC on October 30, 2021.

The ceremony in Reykjavik will be held in partnership with the Reykjavik Feminist Film Festival mid-january 2022.

The jury will hand out two awards, one for the best short-film in French and one for the best short-film in Icelandic, the Icelandic Embassy in Paris will invite her to present her movie at the Côté Court Festival in June 2022.

The Sólveig Anspach Award is awarded in the hope to encourage woman directors to direct more films. The curators of the French Film Festival in Reykjavík decided to honor writer/director Sólveig Anspach‘s memory by naming the competition and award in her name.
