COP SECRET is the opening film of Nordic Film Days in Lübeck
Hannes Thór Halldórsson‘s debut feature, Cop Secret, will be the opening film of Nordic Film Days in Lübeck, Germany. The festival takes place from November 3 - 7 and the full festival program will be published later in October.
Cop Secret had its world premiere in August in the main competitive section at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. The film has since been selected for Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, BFI London Film Festival in the UK, and Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
Cop Secret follows a tough supercop who is fighting a inner struggle at the same time as he is investigating a string of bank robberies where nothing seems to have been stolen.
The film was written by Nína Petersen, Sverrir Thór Sverrison, and Halldórsson. The film was produced by Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir for Pegasus Pictures and stars Audunn Blöndal, Egill Einarsson, Steinunn Ólína Thorsteinsdóttir, Vivian Ólafsdóttir, Sverrir Thór Sverrisson, and Björn Hlynur Haraldsson. International sales for the film are being handled by Alief.
Director Hannes Þór Halldórsson is expected in Lübeck for the premiere, alongside producer Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir (Pegasus Pictures), and actor and co-writer Sverrir Þór Sverrisson, known in Iceland as a comedian under the name “Sveppi”, who has been a guest at the NFL many times.
