DESCENDANTS nominated for The Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize

The Icelandic drama series Descendants (Heima er best) is among 5 series nominated for the Nordisk Film & TV Fond award for outstanding writing of a Nordic drama series. The award will be presented during TV Drama Vision, Göteborg Film Festival's conference event and series market.

Descendants main author and director is Tinna Hrafnsdóttir, co-writers are Ottó Geir Borg and Tyrfingur Tyrfingsson.

When three siblings inherit a thriving whale-watching company, and the summerhouse built by their parents, challenges arise. Navigating collective decisions regarding a shared legacy becomes intricate, and as they resort to manipulation in defining their entitlements, old wounds open, leading to dire consequences.

The series had its premiere in Iceland on November 2 2023. International sales are handled by Tengsl ehf. (Nordic region), Lumiere (Benelux), and Red Arrow International (rest of world).
