END OF SENTENCE receives a Special Jury Award at Mannheim-Heidelberg

End of Sentence by Elfar Adalsteins received a Special Jury Award at the 68th International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg, which ran from November 14 - 24 in Germany. The film had its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Film festival in June and was the opening film of this years RIFF festival (Reykjavík International Film Festival). 

End of Sentence, which is directed by Adalsteins and written by Michael Armbruster, tells the story of Frank Fogle who embarks on a journey to honor his deceased wife's last wish of having her ashes spread in her native Ireland. Frank's estranged son, recently released from prison, reluctantly agrees to accompany his father, in return for a ticket to California and a promise of never having to see his father again. As it turns out, their journey together becomes more than both father and son had bargained for.
