FÁR wins Special Mention in Cannes

The short film Fár, by Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter, won a Special Mention in the short film category at the Cannes Film Festival.

The film was among the 11 works that were screened in the short film competition at the festival this year. The Palme d'Or was awarded to Flóra Anna Buda from Hungary for her short film 27.

The awards were presented at a ceremony on the closing day of the film festival, on May 27.

In Fár, an individual is confronted with circumstances that challenge the ethics of humanity in a world disconnected from nature. Gunnur directs the film, writes its screenplay, and also takes on the lead role. The producers are Sara Nassim and Rúnar Ingi Einarsson from the production company Norður.
