Four Icelandic projects at Les Arcs
Four Icelandic film projects – Rúnar Rúnarsson's Sparrows, Ísold Uggadóttir's And Breathe Normally, Benedikt Erlingsson's The Show of Shows, and Dean DeBlois' Heima – have been selected to participate at the Les Arcs European Film Festival in France, which will occur December 12–19.
Sparrows will play in the Official Competition, along with nine other features. Sparrows won the Golden Shell for Best Film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and has won a total of six awards since its world premiere in September at the Toronto International Film Festival.
And Breathe Normally, writer/director Ísold Uggadóttir's first feature, which is currently in development, has been selected for the festival's Coproduction Village, a three-day-long event where participants can network with potential coproducers, financiers, sales agents and distributors.
The Show of Shows: 100 Years of Vaudeville, Circuses and Carnivalsis a new documentary by Benedikt Erlingsson (Of Horses and Men), with an original score by Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason (from the Icelandic band Sigur Rós), Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson and Kjartan Dagur Hólm. The film will screen in the Music Films section.
Heima, a documentary about Sigur Rós's 2006 tour of Iceland, will also screen in the Music Films section.
