GODLAND nominated for Film Independent Spirit Awards
Godland, by Hlynur Pálmason, has been nominated for the Film Independent Spirit Awards. The nominations were announced on December 5th, marking the 39th edition of the awards ceremony.
The film is up against four other titles nominated in the category of foreign films. Other films nominated include 'Anatomy of a Fall' directed by Justine Triet, 'Mami Wata' directed by C.J. ‘Fiery' Obasi, 'Totem' directed by Lilu Avilés, and 'The Zone of Interest' directed by Jonathan Glazer.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 25, 2024, and will be streamed live on IMDb's website and the Film Independent Spirit Awards' YouTube channel.
Now that the year is coming to a close, Godland has made appearances on numerous lists detailing the year's best films, including Hollywood Reporter's, Indiewire's, and the New York Times'. Additionally, it has earned a place on Indiewire's list for best cinematography of the year, praising director Hlynur Pálmason and cinematographer Maria von Hausswolf.
It's also noteworthy that the film has been selected to participate in the Palm Springs International Film Festival in the category of best foreign films. The festival will take place from January 4th to 15th, 2024.
