Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson's NORTHERN COMFORT world premieres at SXSW

The English-language debut by Icelandic director Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurdsson, Northern Comfort, premieres  at Austin's South by Southwest film and music festival.

Northern Comfort is a comedy-drama that follows a group of people on a fear of flying course in London. The final challenge is a flight to Iceland, which ends up being a horrendous ordeal. Lost in Iceland, freezing and terrified, the group must find a way to overcome their fears. The film stars Lydia Leonard, Timothy Spall, Sverrir Gudnason, Ella Rumpf, Simon Manyonda, Rob Delaney, and Björn Hlynur Haraldsson.

Paris-based Charades handles global sales.

Sigurdsson's last feature film, Under the Tree, had its world premiere at Venice Orizzonti in 2017, and went on to win a number of international awards, at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, Zurich Film Festival, and the Hamptons Film Festival.

South by Southwest runs from March 10th to 19th.
