HALF ELF by Jón Bjarki Magnússon and ISLAND LIVING by Viktor Sigurjónsson screening at Tromsø International Film Festival

Half Elf by Jón Bjarki Magnússon, and Island Living by Viktor Sigurjónsson have been selected for competition in the section Films from the North at the Tromsø International Film Festival. The festival takes place both online and in Norway on January 18 - 24.

Half Elf

Half Elf is part of the section Films from the North Features at the festival. It was directed by Jón Bjarki Magnússon and produced by Magnússon and Hlín Ólafsdóttir for SKAK bíófilm. International sales are being handled by Feel Sales.

Trausti the lighthouse keeper prepares for his 100th birthday and/or funeral while trying to reconnect with the elf within. Meanwhile, Hulda retreats into a world of poetry with the help of an electric magnifying glass. When Trausti starts singing, Hulda tells him to stop screaming. In this world, life is celebrated, despite the reality that awaits us all in the end.

 Island Living

Island Living is part of the section Films from the North - Shorts 2 at the festival. The film was written and directed by Viktor Sigurjónsson and produced by Atli Óskar Fjalarsson and Sigurjónsson. International sales are being handled by Raina Films.

In a remote village in the East Fjords, an inventive boy, frustrated with the slow village lifestyle, embarks on a journey of musical discovery. Joined by a new friend, he enters the local talent competition in an effort to rebel against the tedious duties of everyday life.
