Hildur Gudnadóttir to be honored by City of Hope

City of Hope, the private, nonprofit cancer center, has announced that Icelandic composer Hildur Gudnadóttir will be honored as EA Music Composer of the Year at this year's Songs of Hope Gala. The gala, in its 16th year, is an annual celebration of the music industry's support for City of Hope's mission to eliminate cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening diseases. The event will stream virtually on September 30. Other honorees this year include Smokey Robinson and the late rapper Pop Smoke.

In her celebrated career thus far, Hildur Gudnadóttir has received the highest honors for her music, most notably an Oscar for her score for the film Joker. She has also been awarded two Grammys, a BAFTA, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, and a Critics' Choice Award. Her newest project is the score for the EA computer game Battlefield 2042, which she is composing along with her husband, Sam Slater.
