Hlynur Pálmason receives support from Eurimages
Hlynur Pálmason's feature film, On Land and Sea, is among 31 projects to receive funding in the second Eurimages allocation this year . The project received €500.000, the highest possible grant the fund provides.
On Land and Sea is produced by Snowglobe (Denmark), STILL VIVID (Iceland), and Maneki Films (France). The film takes place at the turn of the 20th century and follows a family that converts their house into a raft to sail across the sea in search of a better life. His latest feature, Godland, premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and was Iceland's submission for the Oscars.
Eurimages is a fund operated by the Council of Europe that provides grants for the co-production of European feature films and documentaries. Iceland has been a participant in the fund since 1992, with numerous Icelandic films receiving grants.
