Hlynur Pálmason's THE LOVE THAT REMAINS Heads to Toronto and New York
Hlynur Pálmason's latest film, The Love That Remains, has been selected for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the New York Film Festival (NYFF). The film will screen in TIFF's Centrepiece programme (4–14 September) and NYFF's Main Slate (26 September–13 October).
Following its world premiere at Cannes in May to critical acclaim, The Love That Remains has screened at Karlovy Vary and Croatia's Cinehill Festival, where it won the top prize. The film captures a year in the life of a family as parents navigate their separation. Through playful and heartfelt moments, it portrays the bittersweet nature of faded love and shared memories amidst the changing seasons.
Starring Saga Garðarsdóttir and Sverrir Guðnason, the cast also features Ída Mekkín Hlynsdóttir, Anders Mossling, Katla Margrét Þorgeirsdóttir, Stephan Stephensen, Kristján Guðmundsson, Halldór Laxness Halldórsson, and Ingvar E. Sigurðsson.
