Icelandic film and television works at the Nordic Film Days in Lübeck

Nordic Film Days will take place for the 66th time in Lübeck, Germany from November 6-11. This year, five Icelandic film and television works will be screened at the festival.

Rúnar Rúnarsson will present both the feature film When the Light Breaks and the short film O. Both works have been selected for prestigious film festivals since their world premieres, in Cannes and at the Venice Film Festival respectively.

Pamela Hogan's documentary The Day Iceland Stood Still will also be screened at the festival. The documentary is made in collaboration with Icelandic filmmaker Hrafnhildur Gunnarsdóttir and it has enjoyed great success since its world premiere at Hot Docs earlier this year.

The short film Krampuss, directed by Guðni Líndal Benediktsson, will also be shown in Lübeck. The short has enjoyed success since its premiere in December 2023, earning recognition at numerous international festivals. The script is written by Guðni together with Ævar Þór Benediktsson.

The second season of Black Sands will also be shown in the series section of the festival. The directors are Baldvin Z, Álfheiður Marta Kjartansdóttir and Erlendur Sveinsson. Script writers are Aldís Amah Hamilton, Elías Kofoed-Hansen and Ragnar Jónsson along with Baldvin Z.
