Icelandic films at the Göteborg Film Festival - THE COUNTY in competition for the Dragon Award

Four Icelandic films will screen at the Göteborg Film Festival, which will take place from January 24 through February 3. The films that will be screened are the features The County, A White, White Day and Agnes Joy, and the TV series Happily Never After.

The County  by Grímur Hákonarson will be in competition for the Dragon Award for Best Nordic Film, the festival‘s top prize which includes a 1 million SEK prize. The County will compete against 7 other Nordic films for the award.

The TV series Happily Never After from director/writer Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir will screen in the TV drama section of the Nordic Light program and will compete with four other Nordic TV series for the Nordic Film & TV Fund Prize for Best TV Script. Happily Never After is directed by Magnúsdóttir and Marteinn Thórsson.

A White, White Day by Hlynur Pálmason and Agnes Joy by Silja Hauksdóttir will screen in the Nordic Light program of the festival.
