Icelandic thriller OPERATION NAPOLEON sold to key territories

Variety reports that Operation Napoleon has been sold to key territories ahead of the film's market premiere at Berlin's European Film Market. Beta Cinema handles international sales for the Icelandic thriller, and has inked deals for distribution in France (Mediawan), Spain (Twelve Oaks), Poland (Hagi Film), Former Yugoslavia (MegaCom), Japan (Tohokushinsha) and Taiwan (AV-Jet).

The film is based on the eponymous best-selling novel by Icelandic crime and thriller author Arnaldur Indridason, and stars Vivian Ólafsdóttir (It Hatched, Cop Secret) and Iain Glen, best known for his role as Dr. Alexander Isaacs in the Resident Evil film series and as Ser Jorah Mormont in Game of Thrones.

Operation Napoleon centers on young Icelandic lawyer Kristin, who gets drawn into the vortex of an international conspiracy when she receives footage of an old airplane wreck, recently revealed by the melting of one of Iceland's largest glaciers.

The film is directed by Óskar Thór Axelsson (Black's Game, I Remember You)  from a script by Marteinn Thórisson (Silent Witness, Jack Taylor).
