Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir Icelandic Producers on the Move at Cannes

Producer Lilja Ósk Snorradóttir has been selected to represent Iceland in this year's Producers on the Move, the networking platform for up-and-coming producers organized by European Film Promotion (EFP), which takes place annually during the Cannes Film Festival. The festival will take place from May 14-25.

20 producers from 20 different countries will take part in the event.

Lilja has worked in the film industry for more than twenty years and is currently managing director of the production company Pegasus Pictures, where she has produced or coproduced films and TV series such as Rúnar Rúnarsson’s Sparrows, Joe Penna’s Arctic, and Reynir Lyngdal’s The Cliff. Lilja is currently working on the postproduction of Rúnar Rúnarsson’s upcoming feature, Echo, and has several projects in development.

The selection of the producers is based on their already acclaimed work and first international co-productions. They have experience in an international co-production, but are still on their way to becoming international players. At Producers on the Move the upcoming producers attend pitching sessions, one-on-one speed-dating meetings and gain various opportunities to build up business relationships. The initiative is aimed at connecting young, enterprising European producers with potential co-production partners, strengthening their industry networks and, at the same time, providing a solid and visible platform for this next generation of European filmmakers.

EFP's longstanding programme, now in its 20th year, is financially backed by the Creative Europe – MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating EFP member organisations.
