NATATORIUM to have world premiere at IFFR 2024

Natatorium, Helena Stefánsdóttir's feature length debut, will have its world premiere in the Bright Future section of the International Film Festival Rotterdam, which takes place 25 Jan - 4 Feb.

Natatorium follows a  young girl that stays with her estranged grandparents in the city while she auditions for a performance group. When the family, who has not met for a long time, gathers to celebrate her acceptance into the group, an ugly family secret emerges.

The film is produced by Sunna Gudnadóttir for Bjartsýn Films, with co-producers Heather Millard (Silver Screen) and Julia Elomäki (Tekele Productions). International sales and distribution is handled by LevelK .

Icelandic co-production at Rotterdam

Eternal, directed by Ulaa Salim, is also in competition at the festival. The film, an epic science-fiction romance, is a Danish-Icelandic co-production, from producers Daniel Mühlendorph of Hyæne Film and Grímar Jónsson and Tjörvi Þórsson of Netop Films. International sales is handled by New Europe Film Sales .
