Odd Fish and Top 10 Must selected for screening at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund.
The Icelandic films Odd Fish and Top 10 must will be screened at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, taking place from August 16.–22.
Odd Fish, directed by Snævar Sölvason, is a feel-good film that follows childhood friends Hjalti and Björn, who run a seafood restaurant in their hometown during the summer. They dream of keeping the restaurant open year-round, and when an unexpected opportunity arises, Björn reveals to Hjalti that she is a transgender woman and will be known as Birna from now on. These changes test their friendship, and both must face life with a new perspective to preserve what matters most.
Top 10 Musts, directed by Ólöf Birna Torfadóttir, follows two women who have both lost control over their lives and the ways they try to solve their problems in dramatic but very different ways.
The Norwegian International Film Festival was the first film festival established in Norway. Its history dates back to 1973, when it operated as a traveling festival until 1986. After touring ten Norwegian cities, the festival found a permanent home in Haugesund.
