RAMS wins big in Ljubljana and Denver – also picks up an award at Camerimage
Rams, the new feature from writer/director Grímur Hákonarson, has added three more awards to its growing tally: the Kingfisher Award for Best Film at the Ljubljana International Film Festival, the Krzysztof Kieslowski Award for Best Feature Film at the Denver Film Festival and the Silver Frog Award at the Camerimage International Film Festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
Rams' strong festival run began at the Cannes Film Festival last May, where it won the Un Certain Regard Prize. To date the film has won 21 awards.
Rams has also been nominated for the European Film Award for Best European Film of the Year. The European Film Awards, which are curated by the European Film Academy, will take place in Berlin on December 12.
It is also Iceland's entry for the 2016 Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. A short list of nine finalists, out of 81 total entries, will be announced in mid-December, and the five nominees will be announced on January 14.
Rams has been sold to more than 40 territories, with a majority of theatrical releases scheduled for the end of this year and early 2016.
