SEALSKIN by Ugla Hauksdóttir wins Best Short Film at WIFF

Ugla Hauksdóttir's short film Sealskin won Best Short Film award at Wolves Independent Film Festival, which took place from August 27 - 29 in Lithuania. Recently, the film also won Best International Fiction at Leiria Film Fest in Portugal and Best Original Soundtrack at Dieciminuti Film Festival in Italy.

Sealskin tells the story of the five-year-old Sol and her father who live in an isolated house by the sea. Sol spends lonely days with her imagination while her father, a composer, struggles with his music. When Sol senses that her father is burdened by sorrow, she finds solace in an old Icelandic folk tale.

The film is written and directed by Ugla Hauksdóttir and produced by Anton Máni Svansson for Join Motion Pictures. Music is by Herdís Stefánsdóttir and the film stars Björn Thors, Bríet Sóley Valgeirsdóttir and Sigrídur Soffía Níelsdóttir.
