THE MINISTER nominated for the Prix Europa Awards

The Minister, TV series directed by Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir and Arnór Pálmi Arnarsson, is nominated for the Prix Europa Awards. 27 TV series are nominated for this years edition and the award ceremony will take place in October in Potsdam, Germany. Prix Europa was founded by the European Parliament, the European Commission and the European Cultural Foundation, and is one of the largest broadcasting festivals in Europe.

The Minister will premiere on September 20 at RÚV - The Icelandic National Broadcasting Service. As the Icelandic prime minister's bipolar disorder worsens, his behavior threatens to endanger the stability of his government and the private lives of his aides and political allies. Some on the prime minister's team take pains to conceal his illness while others seize the opportunity to take advantage of it.

Screenwriters of The Minister are Birkir Blær Ingólfsson, Björg Magnúsdóttir and Jónas Margeir Ingólfsson and it is produced by Anna Vigdís Gísladóttir, Hilmar Sigurdsson and Kjartan Thórdarson for Sagafilm. It stars Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Aníta Briem, Thurídur Blær Jóhannsdóttir and Thorvaldur Davíd Kristjánsson.
