The Pride of Strathmoor in competition at Clermont-Ferrand

The Pride of Strathmoor, an American/Icelandic short film directed by Einar Baldvin, has been selected for the Lab Competition at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. The festival will take place in Clermont-Ferrand, France, from February 5 – 13.

The Pride of Strathmoor is a hand-drawn animated film set in the U.S. state of Georgiain 1927. Framed around the journals of pastor John Deitman, it details his persecution of the local black population and chronicles his descent into madness.

Einar Baldvin wrote, directed, produced, edited and animated the film.

The Pride of Strathmoor has already played around the world to much acclaim. It premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2014 and won the Best Nordic Short Film Award at the Nordisk Panorama festival in Malmö.

Einar Baldvin received his MFA from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2014 and has written, directed, produced and animated a number of previous short films.
