THE SCHOOL OF HOUSEWIVES screenwriters nominated for award at Göteborg Film Festival
The television series The School of Housewives is nominated for the 2025 Nordic Series Award for best screenwriting in Nordic drama. The award will be presented at the upcoming Göteborg Film Festival.
The screenwriters of Húsó are Arnór Pálmi Arnarson and Jóhanna Friðrika Sæmundsdóttir. The series premiered on RÚV (Iceland's National Broadcasting Service) in early 2024.
The School of Housewives tells the story of Hekla, who has been in and out of rehab facilities since her teenage years. When she loses custody of her daughter, she attempts to stay on the right path by enrolling in the School of Housewives in Reykjavík. The cast includes Ebba Katrín Finnsdóttir, Edda Björgvinsdóttir, and Katla Þórudóttir Njálsdóttir.
The prize money amounts to 200,000 Norwegian kroner. The award succeeds the Nordic Series Script Awards, which was organized by the Nordisk Film & TV Fond since 2017. The winner will be announced on January 28.
